At a 2005 community meeting, residents listed what they liked about their community. In 2006, residents submitted their thoughts about the area in an on-line survey. The following list represents a summary of the community member’s responses.
- Watching the daily departure and arrival of the oyster/clam/lobster boats returning laden with the catch of the day
- People people people - Community is about the people
- The annual tree lighting and concert - I especially love the walk across the Grand Avenue Bridge

- Great views enhanced by abundance of sunlight (including vistas of river, bridges, steeples, houses and downtown in the distance)

- Easy access to multiple transportation routes, highways and downtown
- Great neighborhood restaurants and coffee shop serve as gathering places
- Beautiful yards and gardens
- East Grand bridge (historic and beautiful)
- Climate: breezes and coolness provided by water

- Closeness of neighbors enhances sense of community and safety
